MATSUMOTO castle.

One of the few surviving historic castles in Japan that still stands since it was built in the Medieval period. Most Castles in Japan are modern reconstructions since most of Japan's were castle destroyed by wars or torn down during the time of peace in the Edo era and then the Meiji era. 
 
Located in Nagano prefecture in eastern Japan. The building is also known as the "Crow Castle" due to its black exterior. The Donjon (tenshukaku), which was completed in the late sixteenth century, maintains its original wooden interiors and external stonework. It is listed as a National Treasure of Japan.
